About Me.

Get to know me better

Sruti Ranjan Pradhan

I'm a Computer Science & Engineering student focused on AI Engineering, with a strong backend foundation in Java and Spring Boot. I'm building toward becoming an AI Engineer who can design, develop, and deploy practical AI-powered products, not just experiment with models.

Right now, I'm deepening my skills in AI engineering, LLMs, AI APIs, intelligent workflows, and backend system design while continuing to strengthen my DSA and software engineering fundamentals. I'm particularly interested in building production-oriented AI applications where strong backend architecture and AI capabilities work together to solve real problems.

A selection of my recent work

AI Microservice Architect

Describe a system in plain English and get an architecture you can ship: service boundaries, high and low level design, database schemas, Kafka contracts, Docker and Kubernetes manifests, and a downloadable repo scaffold. A staged pipeline, not a one-shot generator — every stage is reviewed, edited and approved before the next one runs.

The hard part

Schema-valid output can still be wrong, so every stage is checked against the ones before it and contradictions are fed back to the model for repair — a design that invents a service the approved boundaries never had is perfectly valid JSON.

  • Python
  • FastAPI
  • PostgreSQL
  • Alembic
  • Pydantic
  • Gemini
  • React
  • TypeScript
  • Kafka
  • Docker
  • Kubernetes

Request path

  1. Plain-English brief
  2. Service boundaries
  3. HLD / LLD
  4. Schemas + Kafka
  5. Docker / K8s
  6. Repo scaffold
  • A stage physically cannot run until the one before it is approved. Service boundaries are architectural judgement calls, so a wrong split at stage one would carry into every artifact after it.
  • Cross-stage validation catches what Pydantic cannot: a service invented or silently dropped against the approved boundaries, or a synchronous call to an endpoint no service actually exposes.
  • A stage takes 30 to 200 seconds, so progress is shown against a measured typical duration for that stage rather than a spinner, and says so when the model is probably retrying after a failed check.
  • The theme resolves to a concrete value before first paint, and Mermaid diagrams are re-rendered on theme change because Mermaid bakes its colours into the SVG.
  • 87 tests cover the pipeline, the consistency checks and the export.

Solvix

Live

An AI-powered DSA practice tracker that automatically imports your Codeforces and LeetCode history, scores which topics have decayed, and generates a daily study plan with spaced-repetition reminders. No manual logging required.

The hard part

Free-tier hosting sleeps when idle, so daily plans and reminders run on an external GitHub Actions cron instead of an in-process timer.

  • FastAPI
  • async SQLAlchemy
  • Alembic
  • PostgreSQL
  • JWT
  • React
  • TypeScript
  • Vite
  • Recharts
  • Groq LLM

Request path

  1. GitHub Actions cron
  2. FastAPI
  3. PostgreSQL
  4. Groq LLM
  5. Daily plan
  • The backend sleeps when idle, so reminders and plan generation run on an external cron rather than an in-process timer.
  • Topic scoring treats Codeforces and LeetCode differently, since only one of them records failed attempts.
  • Repeated wrong submissions collapse into a single attempt, so retry-spam doesn't distort the score.

API cold-starts after idle (first request ~50s)

Emergency Ambulance Route Optimizer

Live

A dispatch system that answers two questions from a patient's location: which hospital they should go to, and the fastest road route there. It then sends the nearest available ambulance and tracks it live on an OpenStreetMap network.

The hard part

Edge weights are travel time rather than distance, so a congested shortcut loses to a clear detour — on the demo network a 3.9km direct route is rejected for an 8.4km one that is genuinely faster.

  • Python
  • FastAPI
  • PostgreSQL
  • SQLAlchemy
  • React
  • Vite
  • Leaflet
  • OpenStreetMap
  • Dijkstra
  • A*

Request path

  1. Patient location
  2. Hospital ranking
  3. A* over OSM graph
  4. Dispatch
  5. Live tracking
  • Dijkstra, A*, the min-heap ranking and the triage queue are written from scratch — no networkx, no shortest-path library.
  • A* is measurably cheaper on the same route: 286 node expansions against Dijkstra's 379 on the 433-junction network, which /route?algo=compare reports directly.
  • Hospital ranking balances distance against capacity — a hospital with no spare beds is ranked as if it were three minutes further, enough to break ties but never enough to send a patient past a much closer one.
  • Triage cannot starve anyone: severity sets your place in the queue, and every ten minutes of waiting improves it by a full level.
  • An ambulance's position is derived from elapsed time along its computed route, so it needs no background job and survives a restart.

Traffic, beds and ambulances are simulated

Real-Time Drowsiness Detection

A computer vision system that monitors a live webcam feed, tracks facial landmarks, and computes Eye Aspect Ratio in real time to detect fatigue, triggering an audio alert when eyes stay closed past a threshold.

The hard part

Tuning the EAR threshold and frame count to catch real drowsiness without firing on ordinary blinks, while staying fast enough for live video.

  • Python
  • OpenCV
  • dlib
  • imutils
  • SciPy
  • Streamlit
  • pygame

Request path

  1. Webcam frame
  2. dlib landmarks
  3. Eye Aspect Ratio
  4. Threshold + frame count
  5. pygame alert
